kindbergia praelonga Is a full shade high humidity moss growing on acidic soil like peat moss sphagnum

We sell kindbergia praelonga as a grown moss in many dimensions or as inoculated clay/Alfisols discs with spores and mother moss, we also sell the correct "Growing Substrate" for this moss.

(When choosing which items to add to your basket please be aware of the difference in 5x5cm Moss: a carpet of moss. and substrate.)

This moss is very elegant with its tiny leaves and fine branches looking like part of a snowflake perfectly triangular, that can stretch to a length or 3 cm and carpet out into a soft cushion of 7 cm or thicker.
When she is sporing she looks magnificent and she readerly spores in humid conditions.

You will be receiving moss which has been dehydrated for shipping, when she arrives just rehydrate her by spraying water on her, and within seconds she comes back to life. Do have a look at my other moss, liverwort, and lichen collection for sale in my Etsy shop, and chose a selection.

K. praelonga has regularly branched, pinnate shoots, typically 1–3 cm long, which are more or less triangular.
Robust woodland forms have bi- to tripinnate branching patterns and are larger.
The most important character is the very marked difference in shape between the stem and branch leaves.
Stem leaves are 1–1.5 mm long, triangularly heart-shaped, with a fine, elongated tip which often turns outwards;
they are widest just above the base, but narrow abruptly to clasp and run down the stem a little distance in the form of narrow wings.
The leaves at the shoot tip are crowded and spread outwards, thus the tip may appear star-shaped from above.
Branch leaves are about 1 mm long, egg-shaped, with a shorter tip and without an obviously clasping base.
The leaves are finely toothed and have a single nerve.
Capsules (about 2 mm long) have a beaked lid and are fairly frequent, especially in woods.
